Townsend, George Alfred, 1841-1914

Abstract Journalist and novelist George Alfred Townsend was born in Georgetown, Delaware, on January 30, 1841. His reports of Lincoln's assassination and General Sheridan's victory at the Battle of Five Forks, Virginia, brought him considerable recognition.
