Biographical / Historical

The American playwright Edward Albee was born March 12, 1928. He attended Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, 1946-1947. Albee's plays, which have won numerous awards and three Pulitzer Prizes, include The Zoo Story (1959), for The Death of Bessie Smith (1959), The American Dream (1961), Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1964), Tiny Alice (1965), A Delicate Balance (1966, Pulitzer Prize), Seascape (1975, Pulitzer Prize), Three Tall Women (1994, Pulitzer Prize), The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? (2002). Additionally, he received a D.Litt., from Emerson College, 1967, and Trinity College, 1974.
