Biographical / Historical

The American poet and writer Gregory Corso was born March 26, 1930, in New York, New York; he died, January 17, 2001, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Corso was one of the primary participants in the Beat movement, an association that started in 1950, when he met Allen Ginsberg in New York City. His best known work is Gasoline (1958), published by City Lights Books in San Francisco.
