Biographical / Historical

American poet and essayist Charles Olson was born December 27, 1910, in Worester, Massachusetts. Olson served as rector at Black Mountain College, Black Mountain, NC, from 1951 to 1956. Olson's work influenced numerous other writers during the 1950s and 1960s, including Robert Creeley, Robert Duncan, Denise Levertov, and Paul Blackburn.
