Scope and Contents
Included in this folder are outgoing carbon copies of letters sent by Stock to Bellow and incoming originals, as well as additional photocopies, from Bellow. The letters dated Feb 20 and 29 are from Lillian Doherty, Saul Bellow's secretary. In his letters, Bellow praises Stock's scholarship on his novels and writes, "your essay gave me much pleasure, and even a measure of gratitude to myself."
