Biographical / Historical

Bibliographer John Carter (1905-1975) was a co-author along with Graham Pollard of An Enquiry into the Nature of Certain Nineteenth Century Pamphlets (1934) that effectively exposed Thomas J. Wise as a forger. Carter authored many works on bibliography, including the seminal ABC for Book Collectors .
