Includes receipts from 1824-1832, which include a bill for the coffin of his first son James Rush (1829-1831). Preserved as well is correspondence spanning the years 1837-1849, from Samuel Rush's nephew James Cuthbert (1800-1842), fellow Philadelphia lawyer William Henry Dillingham (1789-1854), and Joshua York of Pittsburgh.
