Sandra Braman papers, 1971-1997

 Series
Identifier: Series VI.

Scope and Contents

Correspondence, printed material, passport, resume, business cards, medical card, contracts, typescript drafts, programs, video cassette recording, photographs, bills, legal documents, clippings, magazines, and newspaper articles.

Although this series includes a variety of personal material related to Sandra Braman, the bulk of the series consists of material documenting Braman’s relationship to Douglas Woolf, particularly following his death. Many of the letters in the correspondence expressed condolence on his death, relate to the planning and implementation of the memorial service, or regard the posthumous publication or reprint of Woolf’s work. A memorial service commemorating Woolf’s life is documented in a section of this series. Documents include typescripts of the contributions of several literary personages, including Robert Creeley, Norman Mailer George Bowering, Jonathan Williams, Barrett Watten, Gilbert Sorrentino, Ammiel Alcalay, and others.

The series also includes several items of identification for Braman, papers written in fulfillment of university course requirements, the text for her book, One Verse City (published by Wolf Run Books), a few financial or employment papers, and some printed material.
