Charles Ollier (1788-1859)

English publisher, writer, and editor Charles Ollier, with his younger brother James, founded a publishing business in 1817. The first two books bearing the C. and J. Ollier imprint were works by John Keats and Percy B. Shelley.

Although Ollier's publishing business suffered bankrupcies and he ceased publication several times, his work was highly influential. In addition to his career as a publisher, Ollier also wrote and published a number of his own works.
