Content Description
Letters and contracts related to William Saroyan's Sweeney in the Trees from 1941. The contract between Saroyan and Raphael Hakim of Hotel Pierre includes a clause which states that Paul Bowles was to be employed to compose the musical score and songs for the production. It also includes very detailed breakdowns of percentages to various entities, with four other copies, each signed by Hakim. These were stored in a file folder annotated by Saroyan labeled "Contracts (Rejected)."
