William Rush (1837-1860)

William Rush was the third child of Samuel Rush and Anne Wilmer. He received his early education from the West Chester Academy, and beginning in 1853 served in the Philadelphia firm of Waln, Leaming, and Company. He is buried in the vault of Henry J. Williams, in North Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Samuel Rush (1795-1859)

Samuel Rush was the twelfth child of Dr. Benjamin Rush and Julia Stockton. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1812 and became a member of the Philadelphia bar in 1817. He served as clerk of the Common Council of Philadelphia from 1819-1820. After 1826, he served as Deputy Attorney-General of Philadelphia County. From 1838 to 1841 he served as recorder of the city of Philadelphia.
