This manuscript by Heinrich Studer is written in German and gives instructions for dyeing, bleaching, and textile printing.
Heinrich Studer is the author of this nineteenth century manuscript. This very large work contains 407 pages of ink writing on unlined paper as well as over 300 laid in patterned swatches of various materials.
The text contains recipes for dyes, both original and from journals of the 19th century. These descriptions include English, French, and Italian techniques. There are 328 laid-in patterned swatches of various materials. Next to these samples, details on the dyes used and methods of printing each one are given. There are also a number of drawings of the apparatus used to make dyes.
