Nellie Farren, Book of tastes : autograph manuscript
Scope and Contents
An autograph book of manuscript questionnaires completed by theatrical celebrities and others, collected by the music hall star and actress, Ellen "Nellie" Farren. The format is that each writer was asked to answer a series of questions. Among the better known appearances are Tom Hood, J. R. Planche, Lord Lytton (referring to his son, Owen Meredith), F. C. Burnand, and Clement Scott. Farren began the collection in the late 1860s, but the entries peter out by 1876.
Bookplate of Michael Holland. It is possible that Holland met Farren in the 1880s or 1890s.
