This pamphlet published by the Gulf Oil Corporation with dessert food and beverage recipes to serve to "friends and neighbors" while watching election coverage.

This trifold provides the recipes for four desserts and three beverages to serve on election night. It was produced and distributed by Gulf Oil as part of their sponsorship of election coverage on NBC. The back panel of the trifold describes Gulf's sponsorship with NBC, and describes the "$3.5 million computer center" NBC will use to analyze the vote results from the 1964 election.

Gulf Oil and the 1964 Presidential Election

Gulf Oil, one of the major global oil companies for most of the twentieth cenutry, was the sole corporate sponsor for the National Broadcasting Company's (NBC) 1964 election coverage. The deal was reportedly for $5,000,000, with Gulf Oil fully sponsoring coverage of both the political conventions in the summer of 1964 and special election night coverage on NBC on November 3, 1964.

At this time, having one advertiser as the sole sponsor for election-related coverage was rare.
