The Susan Brynteson collection of Thomas R. Carper ephemera includes campaign correspondence and mailings from all three of Tom Carper's campagin committees, Carper for Congress, Carper for Delaware, and Carper for Senate, as well as the group Women for Carper. This collection also includes two items related to Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Susan Brynteson served as Vice Provost for Libraries and May Morris University Librarian at the University of Delaware from 1980-2015.

Abstract

This nineteenth-century scrap album, apparently compiled by a British child named "Fred," contains colorful scraps of animals, children, British sailors in uniform, rowers, flowers, birds, and other decorative items. There are also a number of small printed images, Bible verses, and Christmas, New Year's, Easter, and birthday greeting cards. The cover of this album is embossed black and gold on red cloth in a Japonesque design of the Aesthetic Movement.

This nineteenth-century American children's scrapbook bears the inscription "To Ella, Much Love from Edith and Edna." The scrapbook features trade cards; Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, and New Year's greeting cards; collectible scraps of flowers, animals, and children; one silk program for "Nunnemacher's Grand Opera" featuring a performance of Martha by the Milwaukee Philharmonic Society.

Truman, Sr. (1897-1965), and Merle Carte Truman (1901-2001). The Betty Lee Hutchinson papers document the personal interests and civic activities of a woman with ties to Newark, Delaware, and the University of Delaware community.

Abstract This nineteenth-century British scrapbook of greeting cards bears a red leather cover embossed with black design and lettering, titled "ALBUM." The scrapbook album features Christmas, New Years, Easter, and Valentine greeting cards with most captioned with the year and name of the friend or relative who sent the card. Abstract

This collection consists of 58 letters written by Henry J. Southmayd, Jr., to his family between 1940 and 1945 while serving in the 65th Fighter Squadron, 57th Fighter Group of the 12th Army Air Force. The letters detail his recruitment into the Army Air Corps and subsequent training as well as the events and conditions experienced while participating in the North African and Italian campaigns of the European Theater during World War II.

Abstract

The Frank W. Tober papers comprise letters, postcards, photographs, pamphlets, magazines, newspaper clippings, newsletters, printing ephemera, invoices, notebooks, woodblocks, prints, coins, sculpture, and other realia. A major portion of the papers relate to Tober's collections and collecting activities. Tober was a chemical engineer with a substantial personal interest in the study of rare books, printing, Napoleon and the French Revolution, and, in particular, literary forgery.
