Democratic Senator Thurman Adams, Jr., (1928-2009) was the longest-serving senator in the history of the Delaware General Assembly. Adams was also the president of T.G. Adams & Sons, Inc., an agricultural feed and grain business in Bridgeville, Delaware. The Thurman Adams, Jr., papers chronicle the personal and professional life of the longest-serving senator (a Democrat from the 19th District) in the history of the Delaware General Assembly.

Myrna L. Bair served in the Delaware Senate from 1980 to 2000, representing Delaware's 5th District as a member of the Republican Party. For sixteen years, she held a legislative leadership position, including fourteen years as Senate minority leader and two years as minority whip. The bulk of the Myrna Bair papers documents her time as a senator and consists of legislation, correspondence, personal notes, press clippings, and other materials.

Letter from George Bancroft, prominent scholar of American history, to General J. Meredith Read, informing General Read of Bancroft's inability to obtain a copy of the Journal of Delaware in 1776, containing Delaware revolutionary records. The letter is attached to a board with "letter of George Bancroft[,] the emiment American historian[,] to General Meredith Read" printed on it.

W. Young, Mills & Son watermarked bank bonds

Abstract This one sheet of eight W. Young, Mills & Son (W Y & Co.) watermarked bank bonds for duties payable at Bank of United States dates from circa 1803-1811. This was William Young (1755-1829) & Co. of Philadelphia who established a paper mill in Delaware about 1794 with his partner, Robert Gilmour. Young became the sole proprietor in 1803 and had a thriving business until a fire destroyed his paper mill in 1814. The charter for the First Bank of the United States was granted in 1791...

The Black Family Papers contain 174 items, including letters, greeting cards, postcards, telegrams, pamphlets, programs, photographs, and diaries pertaining to Helen Black Stewart, Lynam Stewart and other members of the Black Family. The papers span the dates 1889-1982, with the bulk of the material dating from 1917-1919 when Willard Black, Helen Black's brother, served in World War I.

Consists of a photocopy of a typed letter written by Elbert N. Carvel, former governor of the state of Delaware, thanking individuals who were involved with the creation of and ceremony for the portrait of Carvel placed in the Elbert N. Carvel Office Building in Wilmington, Delaware. This letter was sent to Judge Paul E. Ellis. A photograph of the portrait is also included.
