Two scrapbooks chronicling William Franklin Allen's 1937-1938 term in the U. S. House of Representatives for the state of Delaware, as well as his business affairs in Seaford, Delaware.

The Archives of Georgetown, Delaware, businesses is the gift of Milt Chaski, Jr., who acquired the material in one "odd lot" at an auction sale. The collection consists primarily of materials related to three prominent businesses that were active in Georgetown, Delaware, at the turn of and into the mid-twentieth century: J.W. Blizzard, Layton & Layton, and the Georgetown Gas Company.

This nineteenth-century copybook and scrapbook was kept by student (and later teacher) Georgina Maria Cooper of Hollandsville, Delaware. It contains pages of copied phrases completed when Cooper was in school, poetry clippings, copied lists of deaths and marriages in Kent County, Delaware, and a list of her students in 1871.

This Delaware ephemera collection is a vertical file of fliers, clippings, artifacts, and other ephemeral materials pertaining to local and federal election campaigns, environmental groups, grassroots organizations, and political groups.

These audiotape recordings by members of the Delaware Folklore society feature folk tales, narratives, songs, sermons, and discussions of folklore. The recordings provide a glimpse into the work of an organization dedicated to preserving and studying the folk heritage of Delaware.

This ledger was kept by Joshua A. Ellegood, Justice of the Peace for Sussex County, Delaware, and members of the Ellegood family between 1816 and 1857. It consists primarily of financial transactions involving wills, warrants, judgments, and other legal matters.

One mimeographed typescript of a paper titled, "Saint George's Chapel, Indian River Hundred: Its history and Its restoration," detailing the various construction episodes of Saint George's Chapel in Harbeson, Delaware, dating back to the eighteenth-century, with particular emphasis on the church's construction and its restoration in 1966.

Two bonds by John and Thomas Evens conveying land to Mosis [Moses] McDaniel in Sussex County, Delaware, on July 10, 1777, and July 24, 1778.

Handwritten court document detailing a suit brought by Sussex County, Delaware, resident Richard Goodwright against Thomas Thrustout for Peter Marsh's unlawful entry of Goodright's rented land and subsequent ejection of Goodwright as the tenant before the end of his rental term. The document includes the signature of William Peery, a member of the United States Continental Congress from Delaware and a Revolutionary War commander for a Lewes, Delaware, militia.

Letter from Robert A. Houston to Thomas Stockton, future governor of the state of Delaware, regarding the controversial appointment of Houston to an unnamed office in Delaware.

Consists of ten letters, one receipt, and one account book belonging to nineteenth-century Delaware attorney, legislator, and judge Caleb S. Layton (1798-1882), reflecting his legal career and personal life and finances.

The L. Lee Layton, Jr., papers include personal and business papers of this well known Sussex countian and Dover-area businessman. Files relate to his business Layton & Company, and landholdings in Layton Farms and Cypress Farms. Mr. Layton maintained topical files on various political and social issues, as well as correspondence and publications related to his opinions. Additional papers belong to Mr. Layton's wife, Marianne Layton.

The League of Women Voters of Greater Newark (LWVGN) was established in Newark, Delaware, in 1952 as the local branch of the national, non-partisan women’s organization which promotes citizen education and encourages participation in government. This archive, spanning the dates 1949-1998, highlights local and national issues, as well as providing information about the organization itself.

W. Barksdale (William Barksdale) Maynard is a lecturer in art and architectural history at the University of Delaware. The W. Barksdale Maynard photographs of Delaware collection contains color slides and digital images of numerous buildings, documenting Delaware's architectural history.

A land deed from Abel and Lizzie Small, an estimate for building repairs by L. W. Hurley, a letter from Charles F. Richards to his brother, and a document of a Sheriff sale of a store to John L. Wallace comprise this small collection related to John Emory Richards dating from 1866 to 1900.

This account book records financial judgments awarded to the firm of White and Doharty of Sussex County, Delaware, dating between 1810 and 1822. It also contains information related to the administration of Alexander White’s estate and the collection of debts on behalf of the Doharty family by Joshua A. Ellegood, dated 1822 to 1834.

Williams Papers, spanning the dates 1907-2006, comprise 11.6 linear feet of manuscripts, academic papers, correspondence, photographs, teaching materials, and academic research relating to the areas of study and publications of Williams, a prominent Delaware historian based in Sussex County, Delaware. The collection is divided into six series, with series III. through VI. corresponding to major subject areas studied by Williams.
