Amiri Baraka papers
Amiri Baraka (1934-2014), known early in his career as LeRoi Jones, was a widely published African American writer who produced poetry, drama, fiction, essays, and music criticism. Much of Baraka’s work addressed the subjects of Black liberation and white racism. The Amiri Baraka papers comprise the author’s writings, sketchbooks, and artwork, as well as correspondence and ephemera related to his involvement in theatrical and film productions.

This collection consists of ninety-three letters from American expatriate author and composer Paul Bowles to his literary agent at the William Morris Agency, Ned Leavitt, and six typescript manuscripts Bowles sent to the William Morris Agency, all created between 1975 and 1992. There are also six letters written by Bowles to other individuals and three letters written to Leavitt by individuals collaborating on work with Bowles.

The Tom Clark collection of book reviews consists of handwritten and typed manuscripts written by Clark in which he reviews the books of various American authors, including Nancy Morejón, Larry Eigner, Laura Moriarty, John Godfrey, Maureen Owen, Norman Moser, John Koethe, Simon Pettet, Michael Palmer, and Darell Gray. Some of the reviews include a handwritten and typed draft, others only one draft. The collection also includes one clipping.
