Democratic Senator Thurman Adams, Jr., (1928-2009) was the longest-serving senator in the history of the Delaware General Assembly. Adams was also the president of T.G. Adams & Sons, Inc., an agricultural feed and grain business in Bridgeville, Delaware. The Thurman Adams, Jr., papers chronicle the personal and professional life of the longest-serving senator (a Democrat from the 19th District) in the history of the Delaware General Assembly.

The George Handy Bates Samoan papers are made up of correspondence, documents, memoranda, clippings, photographs, and other material relating to George Handy Bates's tenure as a special investigator into Samoan affairs beginning in 1886, and as a commissioner to the 1889 Berlin Conference on Samoan Affairs.

Between 1972 and 1994, American author and artist Fielding Dawson (1930-2002) sent a variety of materials to his grandmother, Marcella Simpson, including letters, articles, journals, manuscripts, and ephemera. The collection provides insight into Dawson's literary career and his development as a creative wring teacher in correctional facilities.

The Everett C. & Louise Stanton Johnson papers concern the personal affairs of prominent Delaware publisher and politician Everett C. Johnson (1877-1926) and his wife Louise Staton Johnson (1882-1977). In addition, the collection contains material from their Newark publishing house, the Press of Kells, which brought the Arts and Crafts Movement to the community from 1916 to 1918.

The Paul W. Knauf, Jr. World War II photograph collection consists of seventy-one black and white photographs depicting events in the European Theater of Operations from 1943 through 1945. Fifteen of the photographs were created using the Army’s radio tele-photograph electronic-transmission system. In addition to the photographs, the collection includes newspapers, a certificate from the Bell Telephone Laboratories School for War Training, and an issue of the publication "Army Talks."

Educator, editor, author, amateur printer, and proponent of the private press, J. Ben Lieberman is widely regarded as the father of the twentieth-century chappel movement in the United States. The J. Ben Lieberman Papers reflect some of the accomplishments of J. Ben Lieberman and his wife Elizabeth Koller Lieberman.

The Abraham Lincoln collection comprises a variety of Lincolniana - including Civil War era newspapers, art work, sheet music, and realia - collected and assembled by the Lincoln Club of Delaware.

The Robert B. McKee papers consist of correspondence, military orders, medical supply inventories, casualty reports, and other material related to service as a surgeon in the 1st Delaware Calvary regiment during the Civil War.

Chris Oakley was a longtime resident of Newark, Delaware, a community organizer and a strong advocate for media democracy. The Chris Oakley collection of alternative press consists of alternative press newspapers, community newsletters, magazines and ephemera related to from local to international communities, women's activism and local writers, as well as some personal papers.

Peter Strickland (1837-1922) was a shipmaster, merchant, and U.S. consul in the French colony of Senegal. The diaries and letter books of Peter Strickland date 1857 to 1912. While varying in content, the diaries center around Strickland’s life as a merchant, both on the sea as well as in Senegal. Issues of two French colonial weekly newspapers contextualize the events of the French colony during Strickland’s time there.

The Homer C. Wiggins Collection concerns the story of juvenile criminal and escaped convict Homer C. Wiggins, who was killed in 1913 by Wilmington, Delaware, police.

This artificial collection comprises a variety of types of material documenting world fairs and expositions, spanning the dates between 1851 and 1967, with the bulk of the collection dating from the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. Material consists of printed matter and ephemera, including newspapers, programs, invitations, maps, brochures, viewbooks, advertisements, stationery, contracts, bonds, trade cards, and a scrapbook; photographs and prints; and realia souvenirs.

Emily C. Stump, an executive secretary at Hercules Powder Company, compiled for the company briefing notebooks of newspaper clippings which tracked military progress of Allied and Axis powers throughout World War II. She also collected transcripts of daily radio news broadcasts from stations WOR and WDEL. The World War II maps and radio broadcasts collection includes maps, newspaper clippings, radio broadcasts and militray manuals, documenting war operations in World War II.
