Literature--20th century

The Paul Bowles collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts, editorial matter, periodicals, ephemera, and miscellaneous material acquired from a variety of sources. The collection is added to periodically and complements the Paul Bowles papers (MSS 0163) as well as several other manuscript collections related to Paul Bowles at the University of Delaware Library.

Born on February 19, 1902, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Kay Boyle has been known for her work and achievements as a poet, short story writer, novelist, journalist, teacher, and political activist. One of the most prominent American expatriates during the 1920s and 1930s, much of Kay Boyle’s work reflects the influences of that literary circle.

This collection comprises material related to Independent filmmaker Sara Driver's short film You Are Not I (1981), based on the 1948 short story by American composer and author Paul Bowles (1910-1999) of the same name. Included in the collection is a variety of promotional materials, distribution information, and other ephemera from the film's initial release and early screenings.

The Nancy Hoyt Paul Bowles collection consists of various written material by or about Paul Bowles.

The Samuel Loveman correspondence consists of letters from various literary figures to American book dealer and publisher, poet, and editor Samuel Loveman (1887-1976).
