Includes two letters of introduction from Francis Wharton (1820-1889), who served in the United States Department of State under President Cleveland; one addressed to Edward J. Phelps (1822-1900), then minister to Great Britain, and the other to Isaac Bell (1846-1889), who was minister to the Netherlands. This folder also contains an inventory of porcelain which Alexander Biddle shipped aboard the British steamer Mosses, received by Richard Rush (b. 1848) in Shanghai, China.
