Scope and Contents

Roger E. Nathan participated in the Delaware Boundary Commission's re-establishment of Delaware's boundary monuments throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Nathan visited all of the 179 monuments that mark Delaware's boundaries and provided photographs and written reports to the Delaware Boundary Commission. Nathan died in 2005. This collection includes information on the Delaware boundaries, the Mason Dixon Line, and boundary agreements with our neighboring states (Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey). The Roger E. Nathan papers comprise notes, letters, photographs of geological markers and Delaware events, information on geological surveys, memos, press releases, newspaper clippings, and a copy of Report on the Resurvey of the Maryland-Pennsylvania Boundary Part of the Mason Dixon Line (1909).

Physical Description

A Plan of the Boundary Lines Between the Province of Maryland and the Three Lower Counties on Delaware is breaking along the folds, so use caution when unfolding.
