Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of a holograph programme draft for a performance of Samuel Lover's Paddy's Portfolio, "containing numerous sketches of character," etc., at Clifton House. In addition to Lover's autograph text are two fragments from a printed program as it was published for a performance at another theatre.

Irish painter, playwright, and author Samuel Lover (1797-1868) was a prolific artist during the nineteenth century. He painted portraits and wrote plays, ballads, and novels.
