In this letter dated June 11, 1971, American biographer Arthur Mizener (1907-1988) responded to a letter from U. S. Congressman, John S. Monagan (1911-2005), who had written regarding Mizener's recently published book,The Saddest Story: A Biography of Ford Madox Ford.

American educator, author, and critic Arthur Mizener was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on 3 September 1907 to Mason Price and Mabel Moore Mizener. The Arthur Mizener papers consist of the American educator, author, and critic's draft of the first F. Scott Fitzgerald biography, The Far Side of Paradise, and correspondence with Edmund Wilson, Delmore Schwartz, and various publishers and others involved in Mizener's research and publishing activities.

Consists of seventeen letters written by British novelist C.P. Snow to American author Arthur Mizener between 1956 and 1961, as well as three letters written by Snow's wife, British author Pamela Johnson Hansford to Rosemary Mizener, and a press release.
