This collection comprises two original hand-colored etchings by British caricaturist George Cruikshank, the companion pieces A Nice Lady or an Incomparable!!!! (1813) and An Exquisite Dandy-Prodigious!!! A Nice Gentleman (1818). Both etchings were published by S. W. Fores, 50 Piccadilly.

Abstract

Professor Emeritus of marine studies Franklin C. Daiber (1919-2003) and his wife Joanne Currier Daiber (1927-2007) were two of the first marine scientists hired by the University of Delaware in the 1950s. The Franklin C. and Joanne Currier Daiber papers include correspondence, photographs, negatives, artwork, and publications documenting their personal relationships and professional research and scholarship as marine scientists at the University of Delaware in the mid-twentieth century.

Abstract

Donald Robert (Bob) Lettis (1925-2014) was an American artist and educator who taught printmaking and art education at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston from 1966 to 1987. "Intaglio Method of Printmaking" is a portfolio handcrafted by Lettis of his manuscript instructions for creating engravings, etchings, and drypoint prints. The manual contains descriptions of seven intaglio processes and incorporates the author's own printing plates and prints as examples.

The Berkeley, California-based Sombre Reptiles Press was founded in 1978 by poet Jerry Ratch and artist Mary Ann Hayden. This small collection consists of approximately one linear foot of material related to the operation of the press and the publication of its works, spanning the dates 1977 and 1994, with the bulk of the material dating from 1977 to 1982.
