Abstract
This journal chronicles abolitionist Milton M. Fisher’s 1834 journey from his home in Franklin, Massachusetts, to Virginia, and back. The trip, taken for both health reasons and as an information gathering expedition for anti-slavery efforts, took Fisher through numerous northern states, the Mid-Atlantic region (including Maryland and Delaware), and Washington, D.C., to Virginia. Abstract
This journal of an early twentieth-century woman contains autograph entries describing eating, drinking, sightseeing, and shopping in New York City and several excursions within the Mid-Atlantic region in the 1930s. The entries are accompanied by numerous black and white photographs of locations visited during her trips.
