Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of two typescripts written by Brinsley MacNamara. One is a speech on the "Fiftieth Anniversary of the Opening of the Abbey Theatre - 26/12/54." The typescript is 5 pages with autograph corrections. The second is "The Best Irish Plays of 1938. Brinsley MacNamara - 30/12/38." This is a review of plays with autograph corrections and is 11 pages.

Brinsley MacNamara (1890-1963)
Irish novelist, playwright, and drama critic Brinsley MacNamara (1890-1963) is a pseudonym for John Weldon. Some of MacNamara's plays were staged at the Abbey Theatre, where he had once acted and later became a board member.
